The BC Association of Magazine Publishers (BCAMP) represents, connects and promotes the BC magazine industry by uniting the talent, knowledge and skills of its publishers. BC magazines foster award-winning talent and represent some of the best periodicals published in Canada. BCAMP membership is made up of more than 80 titles, including arts and culture, news, business, lifestyle, leisure and special interest magazines.
These titles represent the diverse interests of British Columbians and are read by more than one million people around the world. BCAMP works to create an environment in which BC magazine publishers can continue to integrate culture with entrepreneurial enthusiasm.
We are a member-run organization, with a mandate to work on behalf of our membership; all of our projects are developed in conjunction with our members and respond to their needs.

PRESIDENT
Elizabeth Rains, Publisher, Pacific Rim Magazine
Elizabeth, publisher of Pacific Rim Magazine, has worked in magazines for more than 25 years as an art director, publisher, writer and editor. She teaches magazine publishing at Langara College and Capilano University. Elizabeth is currently chair of BCAMP’s membership committee and says she loves the camaraderie, optimism and productivity of our made-in-BC organization.
VICE-PRESIDENT
Kim Mah, Managing Editor, TVWeek
Kim is the managing editor of TVWeek magazine, the flagship publication of Canada Wide Media Limited, as well as the editor of Appeal, a food magazine published on behalf of the Overwaitea Food Group. She earned her BA in English literature from UBC and first joined Canada Wide in 1995 as a traffic manager, later serving as an assistant editor on several of the company’s publications. Prior to TVWeek, she was the managing editor of GardenWise magazine. Kim also works for private clients as a freelance editor on projects ranging from proposals to books.

Melissa Revington, Circulation Development Manager, NUVO
Melissa is the circulation development manager at NUVO magazine. Melissa began her publishing career at Beach Holme Publishing in Vancouver, before participating in the Masters in Publishing program at Simon Fraser University. After interning at Modern Dog magazine she went on to become their administration/marketing assistant, where she helped initiate programs to increase paid circulation at the magazine. In February 2007 she moved to NUVO magazine, where is excited to be specializing in circulation development and marketing.
TREASURER
Jennifer MacLeod, Circulation/Managing Editor, Color
After graduating from SFU with a degree in English, Jennifer began what was to be a short internship with Vancouver-based Color magazine. At the completion of her term as an intern, Jennifer was hired on as the circulation manager and now also works in the editorial department. As a part of a rapidly growing company, she is constantly being challenged with new projects and opportunities and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Dave Allen, CEO, Just Business People
Allison Bauman, Advertising Director, TheTyee.ca
Allison is the advertising director for The Tyee, an online news magazine. In her role she is challenged with increasing organizational revenue through existing channels as well as sourcing and implementing new ones. Allison received her BA from Malaspina University, with majors in business and marketing, and began her career in advertising as account manager for the Bravenet Media Network in 2003. She is looking forward to advancing her knowledge of the publishing industry in the years ahead.
Patrick Mackenzie, Managing Editor, subTerrain
Patrick is presently managing editor for subTerrain magazine and editorial assistant at Anvil Press. His education includes an honours degree in English from the University of Victoria and a diploma in professional writing from Douglas College. In a previous life he was a competitive cross-country mountain bike racer. He still likes to ride his bike.
Alex Moreau, Publisher, Between The Cracks
Alex Moreau is co-publisher and creative director of Between The Cracks, which he began in 2007. Alex’s career in magazines evolved out of a background in graphic design. He has contributed to a number of local magazines and newspapers, including The Vancouver Sun, and his illustrations and interviews have appeared in a dozen international print and online publications.
Janine Verreault, Editor, Youthink
Janine is the editor of Youthink, a teen-written magazine that gets into the hands of approximately 100,000 high-school students in Western Canada each month. She earned her BA in English and French literature from SFU and then went on to complete a diploma in broadcast journalism from BCIT. She started her career with Youthink as a school liaison and is currently celebrating her tenth year with the magazine. Janine has a passion for all things pop culture and has contributed freelance articles to magazines such as American Idol: The Magazine. She recently served as the chair for the 2009 Juno host committee’s education team, coordinating a dozen songwriting workshops throughout Greater Vancouver high schools.
